About Paige Calentino - Sober Curious Coach | BecomingHer™
Meet your coach

hi, I'm Paige.
I spent years in
the same loop.

Take a break. Feel amazing. Decide the break was proof I didn't need one. Start over. For years, that was my whole pattern - and from the outside, everything looked fine.

My story

the version of me who
needed this.

01

Fine on paper. Not fine in my head.

I built a career in management consulting and organizational change, earning close to $200K a year. I had the MBA, the title, and a calendar full of things I was good at. Nobody ever raised a concern about my drinking, because why would they.

But most weekends I was the one blacking out. Waking up running through what I said the night before. Losing whole days to feeling terrible. Then doing it again.

I told myself it was normal. Work hard, play hard. Everyone does this.

02

There was no rock bottom.

Nothing dramatic happened. No job lost, no ultimatum, no moment I could point to. That was actually the problem - there was never an external crisis big enough to force the issue, so I stayed stuck for years.

What I did have was the running negotiation in my head. Every evening. Whether I'd drink tonight, how much, whether it counted, when I'd start again.

"I knew it wasn't good for me and I kept doing it anyway. What I wanted back was not being in a negotiation with myself every single night."

So I tried 30 days off. Just to see what happened.

Then I did three months, and it stuck.

Thirty days had never held before. In 2022 I took three months, and that was the stretch that changed things. Long enough for my sleep to reset. Long enough to go to weddings, work events, and dinners without a drink and find out I was still myself at them.

The difference wasn't willpower. It was that I finally went after the beliefs underneath - what I thought alcohol was doing for me, what I thought I'd lose without it, who I thought I was with it in my hand.

That's the work I do with clients now, and it's why I left the consulting career to do it.

If any of that sounded like your own head, that's usually a good reason to talk.

The journey

how I got here

🎓

Education

Double undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Business

Where I got interested in why people do things they've already decided not to do.

💼

Corporate years

Management consulting and organizational change, plus an MBA

Thriving on paper. Drinking to decompress, to celebrate, and to get through the pressure.

2022

Three months off, and the stretch that finally held

Long enough to stop counting days and start finding out what life was like on the other side of it.

🌱

The pivot

Left the consulting career to coach this full time

Got IAC certified and built a method out of psychology, neuroscience, somatic work, and everything that actually helped me.

Three months, one to one, for women who function fine in every part of their life except this one.

How I work

why this isn't AA with a coach

AA works, and for some people it's exactly right. But nearly every woman who books a call brings it up before I do, and says some version of the same thing: that room isn't describing my life. Here's what I do instead.

🔁

The loop, not the habit

The hard part was never stopping. It's that going 60 days becomes your evidence that you don't need to. We go after that belief directly.

🔒

Completely private

No group, no room, nobody you might run into. You work on this from your kitchen and tell people whenever you're ready, or never.

🥂

Your social life stays

The wedding, the girls' trip, the work thing. We prep the actual events on your calendar before you're standing in them.

🧠

Structure, not just vibes

Ten years in change management means I build you a real framework. Weekly sessions, tools between them, and somatic work when talking isn't enough.

💬

No shame, ever

I've done the corporate happy hours and the bachelorette trips and the 6pm negotiation. You will never have to explain that to me twice.

🤝

Not forever, unless you want it

Some clients finish and never drink again. Others land on moderation that actually holds. You decide at the end, not on day one.

Beyond the bio

a few things you should know about me

☀️

Based in San Diego, and I live the way I coach. Beach walks, matcha, Pilates, no hangovers.

✈️

I travel a lot and I do it alcohol free. Your social life doesn't end when this changes. It just gets more deliberate.

🎙️

I've been featured in San Diego Voyager and on WTHR News talking about the sober curious movement.

💜

Clients describe me as a mix between a sponsor, bestie, therapist and coach, with a bit of big sister thrown in.

🐕

I have two rescue dogs, Riggs & Summer. I consider them my actual children.

📲

You'll find me on IG & TikTok at @sober_caliente. I answer every DM myself, which is how most of my clients found me.
